Home Services Pricing FAQ About Get Started →
What we do

SoundUpkeep is a preventive appliance maintenance service. We come to your home on a scheduled basis and service every appliance on your plan — inspecting, lubricating, testing, and documenting each one. You get a Home Health Report after every visit. One technician, one visit, everything handled.

No — and that's intentional. We are exclusively preventive maintenance. We don't diagnose or repair appliances. If we notice something that needs repair during our visit, we'll flag it clearly and you decide who handles it. This means we're never incentivized to find problems that aren't there.

A home warranty pays for repairs after something breaks. We work to make sure things don't break in the first place. The two complement each other — many home warranties require documented maintenance to honor claims, which is exactly what our Home Health Report provides.

After every visit, we send you a full report covering every appliance we serviced — what was done, current condition, approximate age, and anything worth watching. It's a running record of your home's maintenance history. Useful for peace of mind, insurance purposes, and disclosure if you ever sell.

Deferred maintenance compounds quietly. A water heater that isn't flushed accumulates sediment that strains the heating element and cuts years off its life. An HVAC filter that isn't changed makes the system work harder and accelerates wear on components that cost thousands to replace. Most appliance failures aren't sudden — they're the result of years of small things going unattended. Regular maintenance extends appliance life, reduces energy waste, and eliminates the emergency spending that comes from ignoring things until they break.

Your walkthrough & first visit

It starts with a free walkthrough — a 15–20 minute visit where we review every appliance in your home, note makes, models, and condition, and put together an exact flat price. No estimates, no ranges. Once you're happy with the plan, we schedule your first Full Service Visit and handle everything from there.

The walkthrough takes about 15–20 minutes. The Full Service Visit that follows — where we actually service every appliance — takes 2–4 hours depending on your plan. We schedule 2-hour arrival windows so you're not waiting around all day.

For the walkthrough, yes — we walk through your home together and you can ask questions along the way. For the Full Service Visit, many clients provide access and we work independently, sending the Home Health Report when we're done.

Pricing

Your price is confirmed at the free walkthrough, based on exactly which appliances are in your home — make, model, condition, and accessibility all factor in. There are no per-visit travel fees, no hidden charges, and no surprises. What we quote at the walkthrough is what you pay.

Yes — plans cover a minimum of 3 appliance types. The bundle model is how you save: instead of hiring separate technicians for each appliance (separate visits, separate invoices, separate travel fees), everything is handled in one visit at one flat price. Your refrigerator and water heater are included in every plan. The more appliances in your bundle, the more you save compared to managing each one separately — and the more you get done in a single afternoon.

Consumables we replace as part of standard maintenance — like HVAC filters on a scheduled replacement cycle — are included. Other parts needed for repairs are billed separately and transparently. You'll always know what parts were used and what they cost before we proceed.

No. Your plan price is flat and includes labor and travel. The only additional costs would be parts needed for repairs outside our standard scope — and those are always communicated before we proceed.

Your rate is locked at booking and only changes if you add or remove appliances from your plan, or if we adjust pricing generally — in which case existing clients are notified well in advance.

We accept all major credit and debit cards, and Bitcoin (on-chain). Your card is authorized at booking and charged at 5 PM the day before your visit — you can cancel before that for a full refund. If paying with Bitcoin, payment is confirmed on-chain before your visit is locked in.

Scheduling

Your card is authorized at booking and charged at 5 PM the day before your visit. You can cancel or reschedule any time before 5 PM the day before for a full refund — no questions asked. After that point, the charge is non-refundable but we'll issue a credit valid for 12 months. You can manage your booking any time from the confirmation email we send you.

Yes — you can add or remove appliances any time before your visit. Use the link in your confirmation email to manage your booking, or email hello@soundupkeep.com and we'll take care of it.

Walkthroughs can be booked up to 60 days out. We recommend booking as early as you'd like — spring and fall tend to fill fastest as homeowners prepare for seasonal changes.

Appliances

Refrigerator, water heater, furnace/heat pump, dishwasher, washer & dryer, garbage disposal, garage door, air conditioner, sump pump, hot tub/spa, water softener, whole-house water filter, whole-house humidifier, smoke & CO detectors, bathroom exhaust fans, ceiling fans, localized filters, gas oven & range, gas stovetop, steam oven, and range hood. See the Services page for details on each.

Reach out before booking — if it's something we can maintain, we'll add it. If it's outside our scope, we'll tell you clearly so you can find the right provider.

We'll document the condition on the first visit and be upfront about what's realistic. If something is near end of life, we'll flag it in your Home Health Report. Preventive care matters even more for older equipment — but we'll make sure you have a clear picture going in.

Yes. Rental properties are a great fit — preventive maintenance reduces emergency calls, extends appliance life, and gives landlords documented maintenance records. We can coordinate with property managers on access.

Products we use

No. We use only natural, non-toxic products — white vinegar for descaling water heaters and dishwashers, vinegar and baking soda on garbage disposals, and water for general cleaning. No solvents, no aerosols, nothing that leaves residue near food surfaces or affects air quality in your home.

Yes. Because we only use natural cleaning products, there's nothing to worry about for kids, pets, or sensitive households.

We serve the greater Seattle area — Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Shoreline, Burien, Renton, and surrounding neighborhoods. Use our service area finder to confirm your address instantly.
